Mr. Jean Stanoevski at the international conference EUROCITIES 2014 in Munich,Germany, November 2014

Upon invitation of the mayor of Munich, the president of the international foundation Balkan Net and the owner and manager of Constan participated at the international conference EUROCITIES 2014 in Munich, Germany titled “Energizing Cities”. He was part of the discussion panel called Mayors Debate together with the mayor of Oslo, Mr. Stian Berger Røsland, the mayor of Tampere Mrs. Anna Kaisa Ikonen, the mayor of Athens Mr. Giorgos Kaminis and Mr. Ian Robertson, member of the management board of BMW. The panel was moderated by Mrs. Tina Gadow.

The mayors’ debate on 6 November offered a unique opportunity for leading politicians from European cities to share their views and ideas. The high profile panelists, the topical importance of the issues addressed, and the frank exchange of views make the mayors’ debate a highlight of every EUROCITIES conference. This year’s debate focused on the important contribution that cities can make in mitigating climate change, and what they can do to boost the transition to sustainable energy at the local level – and even beyond. The debate explored the cities’ visions for 2030 and how cities can improve resilience without neglecting the needs of their citizens.

Representatives of the business community, the scientific community and a social institution joined the mayors in discussing these issues: Ian Robertson (member of the board of management, BMW AG), Roland Busch (CEO Infrastructure & Cities Sector, Siemens), Cordula Kropp (University of Applied Sciences Munich) and Jean Stanoevski (president of Balkan Net).

At the panel Mr. Stanoevski presented FUTUROPOLIS - the vision of the future energy intelligent city. For further information go to http://eurocities2014.eu.
